A True Illinois Hunting Outfitter

There is definitely no shortage of complaints out there, regarding bad experiences with some "profit-focused" Illinois outfitters. Our goal is to restore some of the confidence in Illinois hunting that has been lost over the past few years. Here is our pledge to you and how we plan to be the outfitter you can trust...

  1. Backwoods Outfitters limits the number of hunters in camp at any one time and we limit the number of deer hunts we offer during the season.
  2. Backwoods Outfitters will not save the hot spots for our guides and/or friends. Some outfitters will put the hunters who tip the most in those hot spots. We feel that if you choose us as your deer hunting guides, you deserve the same opportunities as everyone else.
  3. We don't turn and burn our hunters. Some of the larger operations spend tens of thousands of dollars on advertising, mostly because they didn't offer the previous year's hunters a quality hunt. We prefer to offer the highest quality Illinois deer hunt so that our hunters return year after year. We would love for you to try us out and we are confident you will be back.
  4. We will do whatever we can to help you have a great hunt. If there is anything we can do to make your hunt better or increase your chances of harvesting a trophy Illinois whitetail, we will (within reason of of course).
  5. We believe our genetics can compare with any other locations in the state. We watch and scout our properties relentlessly by shed hunting and using trail cams. While shed hunting this year, we found both sides of a 200+ class buck and our trail cam photos of our Illinois deer speak for themselves.
  6. The #1 goal of Backwoods Outfitters is to offer each and every one of our hunters a quality Illinois deer hunting experience and to provide an above-average opportunity for you to harvest a world-class trophy whitetail.
